‘The Roast of Kevin Hart’: When Does Netflix’s Live Comedy Event Begin?

Kevin Hart famously led the 2024 Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix. Now, the roastmaster becomes the roasted.

The Roast of Kevin Hart will close out Netflix Is a Joke 2026, the streamer’s week-long comedy event. It’s gonna be a doozy.

The live event will be hosted by Shane Gillis, and you can be certain this roast is going to get heated, heinous and fly off the rails. Just as it was meant to. Performing at a roast requires a set of skills not every comedian has. Hart proved that during Funny AF, his new stand-up competition series, when he had competitors step up to the dais to roast NFL legend Marshawn Lynch.

That was just the appetizer, though. The Roast of Kevin Hart is the main course, and it’s about to hit your screen. Keep reading to find out when to stream the highly anticipated comedy event and why using a VPN can help.

When does The Roast of Kevin Hart begin?

This comedy special is set to stream live on Netflix on Sunday, May 10 at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT).

Viewers will be able to rewind, pause and jump to “live” during the broadcast. If you start watching late, you will have the option to “play from the beginning.” If, for whatever reason, you cannot watch it all live, the show will remain under the “Continue Watching” row on the Netflix home screen and will also be available on demand following the live event.

The only place to watch this live special is on Netflix. The service currently offers subscriptions priced between $9 and $27 per month in the US, with a $8-per-month fee if you’re sharing your account with people outside your household.

How to watch The Roast of Kevin Hart from anywhere with a VPN

If you’re traveling abroad and want to keep up with your favorite shows while away from home, a VPN can help enhance your privacy and security when streaming. It encrypts your traffic and prevents your internet service provider from throttling your speeds, and can also be helpful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks while traveling, adding an extra layer of protection for your devices and logins.

VPNs are legal in many countries, including the US and Canada, and can be used for legitimate purposes such as improving online privacy and security. However, some streaming services may have policies that restrict VPN use to access region-specific content. If you’re considering a VPN for streaming, check the platform’s terms of service to ensure compliance.

ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It’s normally $120 a year for its most popular plan (Advanced), but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $90, you’ll get three months free. That’s the equivalent of $6 a month.

Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
