The M5 iPad Pro Is Still the Best Tablet You Can Buy and Here’s How You Can Pay Less Than the Pricey $1,199

Any time Apple releases something new, there’s plenty of buzz online — and the M4 iPad Air was no exception. But if you’re after serious power, the M5 iPad Pro is a better fit, even if it sits at the higher end of Apple’s lineup. That high price just got higher with Apple’s recent price hike due to rising component costs. It now costs $200 more than before, starting at $1,199.

Direct discounts are hard to come by at the moment but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck paying the new full price. Trade-ins and select retailer offers can still bring the cost down. We’ve rounded up the best M5 iPad Pro deals in the market right now. If you’re looking for a powerhouse tablet, Apple’s latest M5 iPad Pro remains an easy recommendation and one of the best tablets available.

With years of experience covering tech deals, Adrian Marlow is one of CNET’s most dedicated deals writers. They’ve collected some of the best offers available on the M5 iPad Pro models below. We’ll keep this page updated as prices change, so check back if you don’t see a deal that works for you.

With a new model on store shelves, we’re likely to see more movement on older Apple tablets, too. If you’re still hunting for savings, our full roundup of iPad deals are a good place to start.

There’s no direct discount at Best Buy right now, but eligible trade-ins can help you save on the M5 iPad Pro. Score freebies, such as three free months of Apple Fitness Plus, Music and Arcade, two free months of Apple News Plus and one free month of Apple TV.

Amazon’s best deal right now is on the silver M5 iPad Pro, which is available for $1,898, saving you $101 off the regular price. Other configurations are discounted by up to $129, too. Prices at Amazon tend to fluctuate, so be sure to double-check before completing your order.

At AT&T, the M5 iPad Pro starts at $1,400, or about $39 per month over 36 months with a qualifying new line. While you can usually get some kind of offer with a new line, they’re not available right now. But you can trade in a device to bring the cost down, credits typically begin within two to three bill cycles after your trade-in is received and verified.

You can also earn a $200 statement credit with the AT&T Points Plus® Card from Citi, along with additional AT&T account perks.

Like some other retailers on this list, B&H is also not offering any straightforward discount on the M5 iPad Pro. But savings are available through trade-in credit and Payboo cardholders can also save on sales tax at checkout.

What is the best iPad Pro deal right now?

If you’re trading in, Apple and Best Buy is offering the biggest trade-in savings on the M5 iPad Pro.

How are Apple’s prices rises impacting iPad Pro deals?

Apple’s recent price increases have made finding a straightforward iPad Pro deal a lot harder. Direct discounts are essentially off the table right now — Apple was never generous with markdowns to begin with. Trade-ins are your best bet at the moment. Retailers like Amazon are still offering ways to save on the new list prices, but don’t expect to see the kind of cuts we’ve seen in previous years.

How we choose iPad Pro deals at CNET

Discounts on the latest Apple devices can be hard to come by but CNET’s dedicated deals team has years of experience helping readers score savings on top tech. Above, we’ve rounded up straightforward discounts currently available on the iPad Pro, along with additional ways to save. These include any trade-in offers, exclusive discounts when you pay with a specific credit card and any free services you may get with the purchase. We also ensure that all featured deals are sourced from a trustworthy retailer, so you never have to wonder if a bargain is too good to be true.

The M5 iPad Pro models saw a $200 raise with Apple’s new price hike. The 11-inch now starts at $1,199 and $1,499 for the 13-inch version. They both come in silver and space black and include 256GB of storage. If you want cellular connectivity, it’s an additional $200. You can also upgrade to nano-texture glass, which helps to reduce glare, but this feature is only available on the 1TB and 2TB configurations, with prices starting at $1,899. The older gen M4 is now hard to come by.

The iPad Pro M5 is only available in two colors — silver and space black.

Discounts on Apple tablets pop up sporadically throughout the year, but they’re typically short-lived. If you’re looking for more consistent savings, you’ll want to wait for a major shopping event. The best bargains usually happen on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Amazon Prime Day.

Apple rarely offers discounts on its own devices — especially the latest models — so you’ll have to look elsewhere if you’re hoping to pick up one of these Pro iPads on sale. Major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart are good places to start — especially during big shopping events. It’s also worth checking what deals are available at smaller online retailers like Adorama, B&H, and Newegg, as they may offer under-the-radar bargains that aren’t matched by larger competitors.

*All information about the Apple Card, Target Circle Card, AT&T Points Plus® Card from Citi and Payboo credit card has been collected independently by CNET and has not been reviewed by the issuer.
