Apple makes some of the best laptops out there, but most MacBooks aren’t exactly affordable. Apple’s latest MacBook Neo changes that with a starting price of just $599. If you’re looking for high performance but a low price, it’s worth considering Apple’s new budget laptop.
If you want something that’s a bit more powerful, there are several ways to purchase other models without paying full price. You can score a bargain at several retailers, including discounts on the latest M5 models and even the MacBook Neo. We’ve also found decent discounts on previous-gen models.

Best M5 MacBook deals
Apple just upgraded the 14-inch MacBook Pro with a new cutting-edge M5 chip. The base M5 model was released in October, with M5 Pro and M5 Max models just added in March.
M5 MacBook Pro (14-inch) at Adorama: $1,599
Apple launched the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro with a 512GB SSD option, though that has now been phased out of the lineup, with 1TB now the base at $100 more. This version comes with a massive 1TB storage and 16GB memory for easier multitasking.

Best Buy is currently not offering any direct discounts.
You can potentially save when you trade in your old laptop. Models from Apple, Microsoft, Acer, HP and most major brands are accepted, but your trade-in can’t exceed the cost of the new laptop. You also receive three months of Apple Music and Apple Arcade with your purchase, as well as two months of iCloud storage and two months of Apple TV.
M5 MacBook Pro (14-inch) at Apple: $1,699
Apple’s own site is the obvious choice if you’re looking to snag the new M5 MacBook Pro. The basic 14-inch model comes equipped with a 10-core CPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and starts at $1,699. If you’re looking to upgrade, you can score some savings by trading in your old Mac. You’ll also get 3% cash back if you make the purchase with your Apple Card*.
M5 MacBook Pro (14-inch) at B&H: $1,599
You can currently save $100 in direct discounts, plus more if you’ve got an older Apple device to trade in. If you pay with a Payboo Credit Card*, you can save a little on the tax as well.
Best MacBook Neo deals
The MacBook Neo is Apple’s newest laptop, and it’s most affordable one yet. We rounded up where you can purchase the new MacBook Neo below, and any potential savings out there.
You can now buy a MacBook Neo at Apple for $599. Students and teachers can save $100, bringing the starting price to $499.
If you have a laptop you’re trying to get rid of, you can trade it in to shave a little more off that price. Plus, if you use an Apple Card,* you can get 3% back.
There are no direct discounts on the MacBook Neo at Best Buy. However, you’ll get several Apple freebies with your purchase. This includes three free months of Apple Music and Apple Arcade. You can also get one free month of Apple TV and up to two free months of Apple News Plus.
Additionally, if you have another device, you can save a bit with trade-in. The value of the trade-in depends on the condition of your device.
There aren’t any direct discounts or trade-in offers at B&H. However, if you pay with B&H’s Payboo Credit Card,* you can save the sales tax. The exact amount depends on where you’re located. You can also trade in an old Apple device to shave some more off the total. Right now, blush and indigo are marked as in stock, while citrus is still “coming soon.” The silver model is out of stock.
Though not a massive savings, the MacBook Neo is listed for $9 cheaper at Amazon, starting at $590. And it’s available there in all four colors.
Adorama isn’t currently offering any discounts on the MacBook Neo. Note that all four colors are listed as being on backorder. You can get 5% off with the Adorama Edge Card*.
Target isn’t currently offering any direct discounts on the MacBook Neo, but it does have all colors in stock. However, if you have a Target Circle Card,* you can save 5% on your purchase.
Best M4 MacBook deals
M4 MacBook Air at Best Buy: $999
There are no direct discounts available, but if you have an old device to trade in, you can save a good amount. The exact amount depends on what you’re trading in and its condition. Best Buy is also offering 25% off Logitech accessories and 15% off on Asus products with your purchase.
M4 Pro MacBook Pro (16-inch) at B&H: $2,299
You can save $200 on the M4 Pro MacBook Pro, bringing the starting price down to $2,299. You can save more if you’ve got an older Apple device to trade in. If you pay with a Payboo Credit Card*, you can save a little on the tax as well.
Best M3 MacBook deals
M3 Pro MacBook Pro (14-inch) at Adorama: $1,979
If you need something with a little more kick, you can save serious cash by upgrading to the M3 model with a Pro chip. This discounted model features an 11-core processor, 1TB of storage and a blistering 18GB of RAM. Keep in mind this discount only applies to the silver version of this laptop. And this item is final sale, so if you’re unhappy with your purchase you won’t be able to return it.
Best M2 MacBook deals
M2 MacBook Air (13-inch) at Adorama: $1,249
This configuration is one of the few M2 MacBook Airs you can still find on sale in new condition. It comes equipped with an 8-core M2 chip, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, as well as a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display.
