Now that Apple is raising prices on many of its products, I’ve decided to keep my iPad securely at my desk at home. But it’s summer, and trips are planned, meaning I’d still like to have a tablet on hand in case I want to watch Netflix or catch up on my Kindle reading. I put that energy out into the world and was rewarded with this Prime Day deal from Best Buy on the Lenovo Tab One HD tablet.
The Lenovo Tab One HD tablet isn’t as powerful as Apple’s signature device, but it’s not supposed to be. But for what it can offer, and the current price of $100 (which is down from its regular $170 price), buying this tablet computer is a no-brainer.
You’re probably wondering what a tablet this cheap can offer. It’s a solid option for the basics, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. You can expand the storage through its microSD slot, if you’d like. But at its base specs, you have enough room to download your favorite apps, movies and music. Just don’t expect to run a ton of apps simultaneously.
The Tab One has an 8.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,340×800, which is roughly 720p. It’s not as crisp as higher-end tablets, but the colors and contrast provide a decent enough viewing experience. Not to mention, it supports Netflix HD, so the movies and shows you stream will look nice.
A huge difference you’ll notice between this tablet and the iPad is that the Lenovo Tab One runs Android 15. The difference between Apple’s iOS isn’t a huge learning curve, but that’s still something you may want to consider.

The Lenovo Tab One comes in one color (Luna Grey) and is made of plastic. If that is an issue for you, you can always opt for the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus, which is priced roughly $100 higher for Prime Day. This is not a problem for me; portability and affordability are key.
