Amazon’s Big Spring Sale is still in full swing. We are seeing the online retailer offering some of the first major discounts of the year, but what’s even better is that competitors have also announced competing deals that can help you save on tech. If you’ve been looking for a new tablet, the Lenovo M9 Tab is one of the best options out there right now. That’s because the 9-inch slate powerhouse is now on sale for $80, its lowest price ever on Amazon by a wide margin.

Best Buy’s got a few left for $70, an extra $10 off, but that SKU doesn’t come with the folio kickstand case. Most reliable third-party Tab M9 cases will run you $18 or more, but if you prefer a heavy-duty case anyway, then that can save you a few dollars towards that purchase. Best Buy’s bundle with the folio case and a screen protector has long since sold out.

We can’t say how long either deal will stick around, especially since the Spring Sale is going to wrap up soon. For the price, the Lenovo Tab M9 is hard to beat. This HD Lenovo tablet has 32GB of storage and a decent little Meediatek Helio G80 eight-core processor. It also has a pretty lengthy battery life, with up to 13 hours of video playback on a single charge.

The tablet offers a 9-inch HD display screen and Dolby Atmos-supported stereo speakers designed to provide an immersive experience while watching your favorite movies and TV shows. There is also a reading mode available, which filters out blue light to reduce eye strain while you read ebooks. You can also customize the display with options like amber tint and grayscale to adjust the tablet to your reading preferences.

What’s more, the Lenovo Tab M9 has Google Lens built in to seamlessly translate text, get help with homework or identify products or places with the tablet’s camera. Its front camera can be used for facial recognition as well — perfect for securing your tablet and making sure that it’s only accessible to you.

With the full Google suite of apps including the Google Play Store, the Tab M9 is a great affordable alternative to the Amazon Fire HD series also discounted this week, as you can install apps from both Google and Amazon’s app stores, and you can utilize reading apps beyond Kindle, such as Google Play Books and Kobo. While you can technically install Google Play on Fire tablets, it involves workarounds and can be disabled after a system update should Amazon choose to start fighting with Google again.

Why this deal matters

New tablets can be expensive, and it’s rare to find an option with solid specs for less than $100. It’s notably cheaper than any of the available iPad deals going on this weekend, and is one of the biggest discounts we’ve seen on Android tablets during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale.
