Save $35: The JBL Grip is down to just $65 at Amazon, hitting its lowest price ever. With July 4 deals flooding shopping websites, Best Buy is also offering a similar discount on this portable speaker. Note, however, that every purchase at Amazon includes 90 days of free Amazon Music.

After a quick check on Amazon price-tracking tool Keepa, one thing is clear: This speaker doesn’t usually get this cheap. Its 90-day average sits at around $80, so a 35% discount feels less like a deal and more like a steal. Even better, this wireless speaker was tested by CNET expert David Carnoy and earned a spot on CNET’s list of best audio gifts under $100. Deals like this don’t stick around for long, so grab it before it’s gone.

The JBL Grip is compact enough to hold in one hand. A single charge provides up to 12 hours of playback, plus up to 2 extra hours with Playtime Boost. The back panel has ambient light with color options, letting you set the vibe to match your mood. It’s also waterproof, dust-proof and drop-proof, making it a durable companion for your outings.

CNET expert David Carnoy tested the JBL speaker and noted that “while it doesn’t sound quite as good as the Flip 7, it costs less and is more compact, weighing in at 0.85 pounds, or 385 grams, which makes it easy to carry around.” You can also attach it to your bag with its built-in loop. He also noted a few limitations, particularly in the low end, where “there’s just enough bass” to keep the sound from feeling flat.

Alternatives you might like

Owing to its affordability, features and 35% discount, the JBL Grip makes for a great gift option. But, if you want better sound quality, as tested by David Carnoy, the Flip 7 would be the better choice. It’s portable, gives a balanced audio experience with AI boost, and is now available at a discounted price of $95 at Amazon. The Clip 5 speaker is another great alternative with similar features, now available for $60.
