One of Our Favorite Robot Mowers Just Dropped to a Brand-New Low at $999

The Sunseeker X3 Plus just hit a new low at $999, making this wire-free robot mower a lot easier to justify if you’re tired of spending weekends pushing a mower around the yard. It’s built for small to medium suburban lawns up to 0.3 acre, and the real win here is how little setup it needs. No buried perimeter wires, no digging, just use the app to map out your yard, set virtual boundaries and let it handle the rest.

Tech expert Adam Doud, who used nine robot lawn mowers for a hands-on testing, said the Sunseeker X3 Plus stands out as a strong pick for small to medium yards, especially if you want something affordable and easy to live with. In his testing, he pointed out an unusual design choice that actually works in its favor: “While most robot mowers have drive wheels in the back and omnidirectional wheels in the front, Sunseeker goes the other way with drive wheels in the front.” He added that this setup “provides a more stable platform overall,” which helps it feel more grounded when navigating typical suburban lawns.

The Sunseeker X3 Plus follows a mapped-out path across your yard and does a solid job of covering the space evenly without wandering around aimlessly. It also steers around common backyard obstacles like furniture, toys and garden clutter, so you’re not constantly checking on it. It cuts closer along edges like fences, walkways and garden borders thanks to its offset blade design, which means you don’t have to go back in with a trimmer nearly as often after it finishes mowing.

From the app, you can set mowing schedules, pick which parts of the yard it should handle and adjust cutting height without ever stepping outside. After setup, it just quietly keeps the lawn in shape without much effort from you.

Why this deal matters

We were already fans of the Sunseeker X3 Plus before this sale. The combination of wire-free setup, easy app controls and reliable performance made it one of our favorite robot mowers. With $600 off, it’s easier to focus on what makes it good instead of what makes it expensive.
