Save $124: The Yale Assure Lock 2, the home smart lock that I rated as the best overall for 2026, is down to $136 on Amazon. That’s 48% off its usual retail price of $260.

I test an enormous number of smart locks, both on my own front door and on various testing kits, but Yale’s locks always tend to impress me. The last time I tested the Yale Assure Lock 2, it stayed on my door for months just because I liked the look and feel of it so much. Now it’s discounted 51% for Amazon Prime Day, landing it at around $153 and saving you a ton of money if you’re ready for a front door upgrade.

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide to everything you need to know and how to find the best deals.

Yale’s lock does a very good job of combining a classic appearance with durability (it’s rated a BHMA Grade 2, quite suitable for home security) and extra features. This lock comes in several varieties — another Yale advantage — but the version that includes both an outdoor keypad and traditional key slot is one of my favorites, and has the biggest discount.

This lock also has Wi-Fi built in, so you won’t need a hub or any extra add-on for it. If you’ve never looked into smart locks before, the connection offers serious benefits. Using an app on your phone, you can lock or unlock the door from anywhere, check its status, send temporary codes to other people and set auto-locking rules so the door is never left accidentally unlocked.

Yale’s lock also works with Google Home and Alexa, enabling voice assistant commands and making setup easier if you prefer to use those apps. I actually like using Google Home compared to the Yale app myself. The lock runs on four AA batteries, which I’ve found typically last several months or so, depending on how often the door gets used. Oh, and don’t worry too much about installation — this is almost always a DIY project unless you have a very strange front door.
