I’d Buy One of These 20+ Prime Day Fitness Tracker Deals to Start My Fitness Journey

It’s the second day of Amazon’s Prime Day sale, and if you’ve been waiting to buy a new fitness tracker for cheap, this is your chance to finally go for it. Pretty much every brand worth buying has discounted its products right now, so whether you want a feature-rich smartwatch, a slim health tracking band or a ring you’ll forget you’re wearing, there’s something here for you. Amazon is the obvious place to look, but Walmart and Best Buy also have quite a few good deals up for grabs.

I’ve spent a lot of time with this stuff, both because of work and because I’m a bit of a health-data nerd myself. So I’ve pulled together the trackers I actually recommend, leaning on years of personal experience and testing done by CNET’s experts. Some of these are at their lowest price ever, and the good ones tend to sell out, so you probably shouldn’t sit on a deal you like.

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide to everything you need to know and how to find the best deals.

If you’re shopping beyond wearables, our roundup of the best Apple deals has discounts on iPads, AirPods and more.

Best Prime Day fitness tracker deals

The Charge 6 is our pick for the best fitness tracker overall, and it’s an easy one to recommend at this price. It covers all the basics you actually want, including heart rate, steps, sleep, and more than 40 exercise modes, and the built-in GPS means runners can leave their phone at home. I like that it stays slim and light when most of its competition keeps getting bigger. You’ll get the best out of it with Fitbit Premium, but the free version still tells you plenty.

$85 (save $75 for Prime members)

If you’ve got an iPhone, this is the one I’d point you to first. The Series 11 won a CNET Lab Award for the most accurate heart rate monitor in our testing, where our expert Vanessa Hand Orellana found it averaged under a 1% margin of error against a chest strap. On top of that, you get a full suite of health features, 24-hour battery life and faster charging, so sleep tracking actually becomes practical. It’s the Goldilocks Apple Watch, comfortable enough to wear from a workout to a workday to bed.

If you don’t like wearing something on your wrist, a ring is the way to go, and the Oura Ring 4 is our top-rated smart ring. It tracks more than 50 health metrics and quietly logs your sleep, activity and recovery without a screen to distract you. Women might prefer the newer Oura Ring 5, which is slimmer and a bit more convenient, but for the money, the Ring 4 is hard to beat. This is the Silver finish, and do note that the ring needs a subscription for the full data.

This is the one for people who take their training seriously. The Forerunner 970 is our pick for serious athletes, with deep running and recovery data, built-in mapping so you can make your own routes, and a battery that actually lasts. There’s even a built-in LED flashlight, which sounds like a gimmick until you’re running before sunrise. It’s a lot of watch and probably more than a casual runner needs, but if you want every metric in one place, this is it.

Samsung users get the most out of this one. The Galaxy Watch 8 handles the usual exercise, sleep and stress tracking well, and it adds a couple of features you won’t find elsewhere, like Samsung’s Running Coach and its Antioxidant Index sensor. It’s comfortable, the display is bright, and Google Gemini is built in. At this price, it’s an easy pick if you’re already in the Samsung world. This is the 40mm size.

For Android users who aren’t on Samsung, the Pixel Watch 4 is the one to get. It’s got dual-band GPS, accurate health tracking through Fitbit and emergency satellite connectivity on the cellular model. The standout for me is Gemini on your wrist, which is one of the few voice assistants that’s actually useful day to day. Battery life runs to around a day and a half, and a quick 15-minute charge gets you back to 50%. This is the 45mm model, and the deal is exclusive to Prime members.

Best Prime Day smartwatch deals

The SE 3 is the Apple Watch I’d recommend to most people, and this deal makes it even easier. It runs the same processor as the pricier Series 11 and covers nearly all the core health features, so you’re not missing much in everyday use. You do lose ECG and the hypertension alerts, but for the price, that’s a fair trade. It’s also a solid first smartwatch for kids. This is the 40mm GPS model.

The Epix Pro is built for endurance athletes, but it’s also just a really nice watch to look at. You get a bright AMOLED display under scratch-resistant sapphire, a built-in flashlight, and the full range of Garmin training and recovery metrics. It’s normally a big spend at $1,000, so half off is a strong deal if you want a premium multisport watch.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

If you want Samsung’s best, this is it. The Galaxy Watch Ultra has the brand’s biggest, brightest screen, a titanium build and the longest battery life in the lineup at up to 60 hours. It does everything the regular Galaxy Watch 8 does and then some, so it’s worth a look if you want a rugged Samsung watch that lasts.

Whoop 5.0 MG (With 12-month Life subscription)

This is my personal pick. I’ve worn a Whoop for a while now, and it’s the one I always keep on for recovery and long-term trends rather than day-to-day numbers. It’s a screen-free band, so you get everything through the app, including sleep, strain, recovery and your physiological age. The battery lasts up to 14 days and charges on your wrist, so you never really take it off. It’s CNET’s pick for performance tracking, though the subscription model won’t suit everyone.

The Vivoactive 5 is a good middle ground if you want Garmin’s tracking without the Forerunner price. You get a bright AMOLED display, up to 11 days of battery, more than 30 exercise apps and sleep coaching. It’s a solid value at this price, and unlike a lot of these deals, it isn’t locked behind a Prime membership.

If you want the simplest, lightest way into fitness tracking, the Inspire 3 is it. It’s one of Fitbit’s slimmest bands, and it still covers your health, sleep and workouts. It doesn’t have built-in GPS, so it leans on your phone for that, but you get up to 10 days of battery life, which is more than most watches here.

More Prime Day fitness band deals:

  • Fitbit Versa 4: $124 (save $76). The Versa 4 sits between a band and a smartwatch, with a big square screen, easy Fitbit tracking and up to six days of battery life.
  • Fitbit Sense 2: $200 (save $50). This is Fitbit’s health-focused watch, with all-day stress tracking, an ECG app and more than 40 exercise modes.
  • Fitbit Ace LTE: $60 (save $63). This kids’ smartwatch handles calls, messaging and location sharing that parents set up, plus games that get kids moving. This is a Prime member exclusive.
  • Amazfit Bip 5: $66 (save $24). If you’re on a tight budget, the Bip 5 covers heart rate, sleep and GPS for well under $70.

When is this year’s Prime Day sale?

Prime Day typically lands in July, but Amazon moved it up in 2026. The sale started on June 23 and runs through June 26, and plenty of deals are already live, so you don’t have to wait to start saving.

What is on sale for Prime Day this year?

Pretty much everything. Last year’s sale had more than 100,000 deals, covering everything from the latest Apple gear to everyday essentials. The biggest discounts tend to land on tech and big-ticket items like TVs and laptops, but wearables, small appliances and plenty more get price cuts too. Amazon has also teased up to 65% off its own devices.

Do I need a Prime membership to shop the sale?

You don’t need a Prime membership to shop the sale, as thousands of deals are open to everyone. That said, some of the steeper discounts are exclusive to Prime members, and a few of the deals above are marked as such. The membership comes with other perks too, so if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s a good time to sign up.
