The purple category in today’s NYT Connections puzzle made me laugh. If you grew up in the 1970s and ’80s like I did, and saw a lot of album covers and band names, you’ll enjoy this category, even if you can’t guess it without filling in the other categories first. The Times now has a Connections Bot, like the one for Wordle. Go there after you play to receive a numeric score and to have the program analyze your answers. And players who are registered with the Times Games section can now nerd out by following their progress, including number of puzzles completed, win rate, number of times they nabbed a perfect score and their win streak.
