When is Black Friday?

This year, Black Friday was Nov. 28. It always lands on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. There are hundreds of price cuts and sizable sales from the biggest online retailers still running.

What should I look for in a Black Friday deal under $25?

Pay special attention to a product’s brand or manufacturer. During major shopping events like Cyber Monday and Black Friday, many retailers — especially Amazon and Walmart — are flooded with cheap knock-offs and outlandish offers from sketchy third-party vendors. Look for popular and trusted name brands, and ensure that your order is being fulfilled by an official retailer or the manufacturer directly. This information is usually found beneath the product name or the “add to cart” button.

Will tariffs interfere with Black Friday deals?

President Donald Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs” have plenty of us feeling antsy about prices. According to a recent CNET survey, 64% of shoppers said they’ve bought or plan to buy a tech product soon to avoid price increases or shortages. But Trump imposed a 10% baseline tariff in April, plus additional tariffs on Chinese goods and a 50% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports. That means you’ll likely see higher prices on many things soon.

What are the best sales for Black Friday 2025?

Every website on the planet is going to be offering some kind of Black Friday sale, but there are a few key places where you’ll find the deepest discounts on tech for every aspect of your life.

  • Amazon known for reliable delivery even on Black Friday.
  • Walmart: You won’t find a larger section of Black Friday deals for your home, and if you’re a Walmart-Plus subscriber, you’ll get access to most of those sales before anyone else.
  • Best Buy: If you’re looking for Black Friday discounts of 50% or more on the latest TVs, appliances and laptops, this is usually the best place to start.
  • Home Depot: We’ve found hundreds of Black Friday deals on tools, appliances and a healthy selection of home security gadgets to upgrade your home.
