Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh is back as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in the new movie Star Trek: Section 31. The Wicked and Everything Everywhere All at Once star reprises her role in Star Trek: Discovery for a standalone adventure on Paramount Plus. It promises to help bridge the gap between The Original Series and The Next Generation.

Section 31 is set after the events of Star Trek: Discovery’s second season. Yeoh’s hard-hearted Emperor finds herself in a tricky situation: She’s recruited by Starfleet’s covert division to help keep the United Federation of Planets safe against a mysterious, looming threat. An espionage thriller in outer space? Sign me up.

Starring alongside Yeoh are Omari Hardwick as Alok Sahar, Sam Richardson as Quasi, Robert Kazinsky as Zeph, Kacey Rohl as Rachel Garrett, Sven Ruygrok as Fuzz, James Hiroyuki Liao as San, Humberly Gonzalez as Mel and Joe Pingue as Dada Noe.

How to watch Michelle Yeoh’s Star Trek movie

This new Star Trek adventure premieres on Friday, Jan. 24 on Paramount Plus.

Paramount Plus underwent a price hike last year with the price of the Essential plan jumping from $6 to now $8 monthly. This change applies to new subscribers only. For Paramount Plus With Showtime, new and established subscribers now pay a $13 monthly fee, a $1 increase. The price of the annual plans remains unchanged.

There are some noteworthy differences between Paramount Plus’ Essential plan and Paramount Plus with Showtime. Aside from including Showtime’s original programming in the latter, you will see fewer ads with that tier and can watch your local live CBS station and download movies and TV shows to view offline.
