The weekend’s Premier League action concludes on Sunday with an intriguing clash between second-placed Man City and a Chelsea team that has seen its top five hopes placed in disarray following the surprise departure of manager Enzo Maresca.

The Blues come into the weekend’s action in fifth place, but have started the new year in less than ideal fashion with Maresca’s exit from the current Club World Cup champions confirmed on Thursday after just 18 months in charge. The Italian coach, who is reported to have held talks with the Blues’ opponents today over becoming Pep Guardiola’s eventual replacement, took charge of the West London club for the final time on Tuesday, overseeing a disappointing 2-2 draw with struggling Bournemouth.

City, meanwhile, ceded points in the title race on Thursday after being held to a goalless stalemate away against Sunderland, with Guardiola’s men now four points behind current league leaders Arsenal’s before this weekend’s fixtures.

Manchester City takes on Chelsea on Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Etihad Stadium, with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m. GMT. That makes it a 12:30 p.m. ET or 9:30 a.m. PT start in the US and Canada, and a 4:30 a.m. AEDT kickoff in Australia on Monday.

How to watch the Premier League 2025-26 from anywhere with a VPN

If you’re traveling abroad and want to keep up with all the EPL action while away from home, a VPN can help enhance your privacy and security when streaming.

It encrypts your traffic and prevents your internet service provider from throttling your speeds. Additionally, it can be helpful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks while traveling, providing an extra layer of protection for your devices and logins. VPNs are legal in many countries, including the US and Canada, and can be used for legitimate purposes such as improving online privacy and security.

However, some streaming services may have policies restricting VPN use to access region-specific content. If you’re considering a VPN for streaming, check the platform’s terms of service to ensure compliance.

If you choose to use a VPN, follow the provider’s installation instructions, ensuring you’re connected securely and in compliance with applicable laws and service agreements. Some streaming platforms may block access when a VPN is detected, so verifying if your streaming subscription allows VPN usage is crucial.
