Apple iPhone Air at T-Mobile: $0
The surprisingly durable iPhone Air is Apple’s thinnest phone to date, and T-Mobile is offering plenty of ways to snag one for less. You can pick it up for free with a trade-in of any condition on an Experience Beyond or Go5G next plan, or when you switch to an Experience Beyond plan from another carrier.
T-Mobile offers tons of other trade-in and new line discounts, which will depend on which plan you have.
Apple iPhone 16E at Best Buy: $550
I doubt we’ll see any unlocked iPhone 17 deals this Black Friday, but you can pick up Apple’s latest affordable model for less. It has the same A18 processor as the previous-gen iPhone 16, and our reviewer found that it still “does most of the Apple stuff I want.”

The Pixel 9A offers the best value out there for Android users, and this is your chance to snag an unlocked model for even less. Amazon currently has all four colors on sale for $100 off — which is around $30 more than the all-time lowest price we’ve seen.
Google Pixel 10 Pro XL at AT&T: $0
Pixel users looking to upgrade can exchange an old Pixel phone from any year and in any condition to get the new Pixel 10 XL for free. Phones from other brands are also eligible for this deal, as long as they have a trade-in value of at least $35.

Is Black Friday the best time to buy a phone?
Phone deals are readily available throughout the year, but many of these offers will require you to trade in an old phone or sign up with a carrier. During Black Friday, direct discounts on unlocked models are a lot more common. That means it’s a lot easier to score some savings without having to jump through any hoops or sign a multiyear contract.
What is the difference between an unlocked and a carrier phone deal?
Unlocked phone deals refer to straightforward discounts or trade-in savings that don’t require you to sign a multiyear service contract, so you’re free to activate the phone on any network later. There aren’t any special requirements, but these deals typically won’t save you as much.
On the other hand, you can easily save hundreds or even get your phone for free with a carrier deal. Carrier offers usually feature much bigger discounts, but you will have to sign a two- or three-year contract to get the deal.
Where can I find the best Black Friday phone deals?
The answer will ultimately depend on which kind of deal you’re looking for. You’ll find the biggest savings at carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon, though you will have to sign a contract to take advantage of those offers. If you want an unlocked model, you’ll find the best deals at Best Buy and Amazon.
