ADT’s big spring deal is here, running through May 7, and it includes a bonus unlike anything I’ve seen from a security company before: You get not one but two free cameras, the wireless Google Nest Doorbell and Google Nest Cam when choosing the right security package.

ADT Plus (read my full review) is pushing its Google Nest integrations hard, which give the ADT security system some very neat AI tricks, such as enabling facial recognition and automatic door unlocking with the right Yale smart lock (these features aren’t available everywhere because of local privacy laws, but they’re still quite common). You can use either the ADT+ app or Google Home to control this set of cameras.

In my ADT Plus 2024 review I noted that the Google Nest integration is the strongest factor ADT has in its favor right now and said, “ADT Plus doesn’t seem like a security system from a 150-year dinosaur. It feels like a modern smart home system eager to embrace the latest AI functions and advance into new areas like the personal profiles of its Trusted Neighbor system. DIY installations are accessible, the app looks better than it ever has, and the sensors prove quite dependable.”

However, I also noted that some ADT pricing issues remain and this impressive deal does come with the usual caveats — you’ll have to spend some money to get free stuff. The offer only applies to new customers and only works when purchasing the Self Setup with a minimum purchase of $269, or a professionally installed system with a minimum purchase of $599.

You’ll need to start a professional monitoring plan with ADT, too, either signing up for a lengthy contract for the professionally installed plan or starting a $40 monthly subscription with the self-installed option. Those numbers make this security deal especially good for DIYers who don’t mind installing their own systems and are ready to add a video doorbell and security camera to their homes.

While some contract requirements exist, this deal is very good for Google Nest fans willing to do a self-setup option for their ADT system and start out paying at least $40 per month. Keep in mind, ADT’s latest system includes options such as motion sensors, window/door sensors, smoke detectors, leak detectors and other devices for a lot of protection options. Because the deal only lasts a few weeks, look into it early if you’re serious about a security system.

On that note, now is a great time to compare our best DIY home security systems and best security systems overall.
