Crunchyroll Is Raising Subscription Prices. Here’s How Your Plan Will Change

Roughly one month after ending its free tier, Crunchyroll is raising prices on all its streaming subscription plans in the US. The anime giant announced the changes on Monday, indicating new prices take effect immediately for new customers and will roll out for existing subscribers in March. If you’re a fan who’s already been busy streaming Jujutsu Kaisen or Oshi no Ko, note that these rates will apply in the same month those finales air.

Starting Monday, the streaming service‘s monthly prices are increasing by $2 for anime subscriptions and for bundle plans that package anime with the Crunchyroll Manga app. If you’re a current subscriber, you’ll see the new pricing on your next billing date after March 4.

The Fan subscription is going from $8 to $10, the Mega Fan tier increases from $12 to $14, and the Ultimate Fan plan is rising from $16 to $18 per month. Each plan remains ad-free, and these changes also include adding downloads to the Fan tier. While Crunchyroll last raised prices in May 2024, this is the first time the anime streamer has hiked the price on the Fan plan since 2019. Do you have a manga plus anime bundle? With the $2 bump, Fan plus Manga is increasing to $14 per month (up from $12), and Mega Fan plus Manga will now cost $17.50 (previously $15.50).

To help soften the blow to your winter and spring anime watchlists, the company is offering a limited-time discount price for existing customers who want to upgrade to an annual plan. Switch to a yearly Fan plan for $67, or if you’re a bundler, get the Fan plus Manga subscription for $115 for one year, or the Mega Fan plus Manga plan at $142 for 12 months.

The streamer houses a massive anime library, airing Japanese simulcasts of popular series such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Hell’s Paradise, Oshi no Ko and Demon Slayer. Premium members also get access to music and its mobile game lineup in the Crunchyroll Game Vault, and additional perks like exclusive discounts, swag and events.

This price hike is not unexpected in the streaming industry, where companies like Spotify and Paramount Plus have already implemented increases this year. In 2025, entertainment giants such as Netflix, HBO Max and Disney all raised rates on subscription plans.
