Should you be watching TV while at work? Why yes, yes you should — according to Tubi. On Wednesday, the streaming service announced the launch of a stealthy new tool that helps you watch shows and movies while you’re at work. Some of you are probably already doing that (I’m not judging), but with the introduction of Productubity, you can be sneaky and switch to a fake screen to trick your colleagues.
“It’s designed for the modern multitasker who’s streaming on the sly, because sometimes, the only thing standing between you and your favorite show is your boss walking by,” Tubi’s pitch reads.
Like Tubi, Productubity is free and can be downloaded here as a Chrome extension. Install the plug-in on your desktop’s web browser, open Tubi on your computer and start streaming what you want. When you feel the threat of your manager or a co-worker coasting too close to your workspace, click on the extension to toggle to the bogus screen display. Your viewing is paused where you left it, and you can flip back without any disruptions to your video. All it takes is a click.

The company drew inspiration for the tool from its report, The Stream 2025: Audience Insights Shaping Streaming, which uncovered some interesting stats about the Gen Z workers it surveyed. It said 84% reported watching TV or movies while working, while half stream when they work from home and roughly 48% lie to their bosses about it.
