Since debuting 2017, Horizon and its protagonist, Aloy, have quickly risen to be one of the faces of PlayStation. Selling more than 24 million copies, the beloved action RPG then received a remaster for PS5 in October last year. If you’ve never experienced Aloy’s first adventure in Horizon Zero Dawn, this is the perfect opportunity to do so without paying full price as Best Buy has reduced the remaster to just $30.
Set in a post-apocalyptic US, a young female warrior named Aloy travels across the land to discover her mysterious origins. Along the way, she encounters deadly tribes and giant mechanical beasts. The 2022 sequel — Horizon Forbidden West — even features in CNET’s best PS5 games to play right now, if you fancy playing both back-to-back.
“Horizon Zero Dawn is a beautifully envisioned open-world action RPG with a great combat system, gorgeous visuals and jaw-dropping enemies,” said CNET editor at large Jeff Bakalar during his review of the game upon its PS4 release. He noted that the “seemingly endless side quests and errands lack any serious substance,” so take that into account before purchasing.
The PS5 version provides a graphical overhaul to the game, so it looks even more stunning than it did originally. There are also various quality-of-life improvements, faster load times, improved character animations as well as full support for the PS5 DualSense controller — such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Why this deal matters
Naturally, we’re all a bit dubious about a game from 2017 receiving a remaster but considering it’s now down to $30, this is pretty great value — especially if you’ve never played it before. This is the lowest price we’ve seen since it launched in October, and the $20 discount is only available for today.
