In A Real Pain, Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg play mismatched cousins, Benji Kaplan and David Kaplan. They travel to Europe to honor their grandmother and track their Jewish lineage. Dysfunction arises when the two drastically different personalities face unresolved tensions from the past. 

Eisenberg wrote and directed the movie, which was released theatrically on Nov. 1, 2024, marking his feature film debut behind the camera. Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, Liza Sadovy and Daniel Oreskes fill out the cast.

When to watch ‘A Real Pain’ on Hulu

Jesse Eisenberg’s directorial debut is set to arrive on Hulu on Thursday, Jan. 16.
